Wedding Flower Budgets: What to Expect

The topic of full service wedding flower pricing has always felt a bit obtuse. Am I right? It did when I was married 10 years ago — but now, I understand why.

The reason why? The designs are built to meet the needs of your day.

In today's post, I'm going to shed some light on what goes into pricing.
To start, there are three basic items that will impact the scale of your pricing:
  1. Your wedding party size
  2. The types of flowers you want and their seasonality (flexibility is powerful)
  3. Your wedding guest count
Outside of the basics that will drive costs, there are other factors that go into pricing formulas that are helpful to know about as you go through your planning process:
  • Each Stem and Vessel Type Has a Price:
Each design is priced based on the cost of the stem and the quantity needed to achieve the look. Stem prices can fluctuate based on the time of year and certain stems are more expensive than others. For example, a peony stem is more expensive than a scabiosa stem.

The cost of the vessels and any mechanics needed is also included in the formula. Rentals can help keep costs down.

  • There is a Labor Charge:
This covers the time it takes to order the flowers from the best farmers and wholesalers, pick up the flowers, prep the flowers, clean the vessels, shine the chimneys, make the arrangements and the installations, pack them securely for travel + stage them at the venue and climb the ladders for that install. Active prep and design for a full service wedding is typically one action packed week.

Beyond the active designing days, we are your partner in planning, available for often a year to discuss adjustments and make changes along the way, because a girl or a guy can change their minds and we are there for it.

We will also coordinate with your planner, with your venue, your mom, and your after party planner, to be sure they have what they need from us. We will be there to move your whole wedding to a new venue at the last hour due to floods (true story).

We work well with others and you can lean on us.
  • Transportation Charges Exist:
We charge a small fee to cover the cost to transport the flowers to the venue, to the two separate locations where the wedding parties are getting ready, and our return trip to the venue to strike all installations at night. This fee covers wear on our vehicle and fuel.

When you receive your proposal from us, we’ve considered what is needed to achieve the volume needed to pull off the design and make the right impact. We've considered how many people we will need to ensure your designs go off without a hitch. As you complete your inquiry form with us, when you provide your budget range, you give us the right tools to create a realistic plan that meets your vision — and the realistic budget.
