ABOUT Meghan Lauren Shaw

My name is Meghan and I'm the Founder and Creative Director of Sticks and Stones Flora.
My journey to floristry was not a linear one, but I believe I arrived to it as time intended.
In 2005, I graduated from The Fashion Institute of Technology with a degree in Advertising and Marketing Communications with my sites set on a career in events and public relations. I went on to work in various leadership roles within the technology space in marketing.

In 2019, I left the technology industry to start my own company, which has evolved into today's Sticks and Stones Flora. My goal is to offer a high quality creative product that's designed and delivered thoughtfully and intentionally.

I have taken my fair share of personality tests. By nature, I am a highly detail oriented person. I like to take calculated risks, challenge the status quo and solve problems. Quality is important to me and I love a solid plan.

On a personal level, I love a good laugh. I was born and raised in Keyport, NJ and now live in Leonardo, NJ with my wife, son and dog named Sticks, who is the inspiration behind the name. I love the woods, campfires, lakes and beaches equally. If there is music, I will dance.

I look forward to connecting with you, talking flowers, and creating a master plan to make your vision come true.

OUR Overall Approach

We start with a review of your form submission and are committed to responding within 48 hours with questions and to confirm our availability for your date.

After that, we have three steps:

#1 Dream

We think about the possibilities surrounding color combinations, vessel shapes and flower types.
After we consider the options balanced with your budget, we send you a proposal that covers the flowers, the vessels, and pricing.

#2 FORMALIZE

Your contract signature and a 50% retainer reserves your date on our calendar.

#3 Build

After a finalized contract, we connect and align on our next steps. This might include setting up a touch point ahead of your big day or scheduling a walk through of your venue. We organize our team and prepare to execute on the vision.
